Perhaps we are in our 6th Mass Extinction event, yet perhaps not. Maybe what new species are emerging (or that we are just now discovering) are simply a reflection of the constant evolution of the life-forms on our planet. Out with the old, in with the new, right? Love it! BTW: vermicular types and other invertebrates are some of the most often discovered "new" forms today. Translation: there are a lot of "worms" out there that we have yet to encounter!
